Construction of a new UCSF clinical facility and parking garage began in Mission Bay in April 2021. The Block 34 project is located south of the new UCSF Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision (WGVCV) and bounded by Illinois, Mariposa and Third Streets. Construction for the clinic is scheduled to continue through August 2024.
Construction began with the parking garage on the south end of the Block 34 site. Initial activity includes removal of the existing parking lot, excavation, and drilling foundation piles.
Parking in the lot adjacent to the WGVCV will remain through August 2021. The lot will then be closed and removed for construction of the clinical building. The foundations for that building will also include drilled piers.
The new parking garage will provide 500 spaces and house administrative offices for UCSF Transportation Services. The new five-story clinical building will include an ambulatory surgery center, urgent care, adult primary and secondary multi-specialty clinics, and a pharmacy.
Work hours are 7am – 5pm weekdays and 8am - 5pm Saturdays.
