UCSF is a distinctly urban institution with owned facilities throughout the city and some beyond city limits. UCSF also leases more than a million square feet of space for a variety of purposes at numerous locations in San Francisco and elsewhere.
Leased Sites
UCSF leases approximately 1.13 million square feet of space, including space at Zuckerberg San Francisco General. UCSF is actively engaged in an effort to reduce the number of leased locations by consolidating leases into fewer locations and relocating uses into UCSF-owned space when leases expire, to improve operational efficiencies and achieve programmatic adjacencies. Leased locations of 10,000 square feet or larger are shown on the map.
