Orthopaedic Institute and Robotic Pharmacy

UCSF leases two separate spaces at 1500 Owens. The property, owned by Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., is across the street from the UCSF William J. Rutter Community Center and two blocks from the Mission Bay Hospital. 

Orthopaedic services were relocated from Mt. Zion and Parnassus and expanded at the new space. Real Estate Services was responsible for negotiating the agreements and managing the construction of the new facilities. These include an outpatient clinic, an ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms and two procedure rooms, a radiology suite with a 3T MRI and three X-ray rooms, an orthotics and prosthetics clinic and shop, and faculty offices.

The Robotic Pharmacy provides for rapid, automated on-site ordering and delivery of medicine, serving patients of the Orthopaedic Institute and other nearby clinical facilities. Real Estate Services planned and managed this first-of-its-kind build out of the pharmacy.
